The Truth Comes Out! Details Here>>>
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office has undergone dramatic changes since the citizens of Ogle County elected me as your Sheriff in 2010.
I committed to the residents of Ogle County that I would be innovative in implementing change, in order to allow our team to do more for the people of the County, with less financial resources. I am proud of the way our personnel have responded to this challenge, and we now enjoy huge productivity gains, while utilizing fewer financial resources.
While individual costs for many items such as fuel have skyrocketed in the past 3 years, the Sheriff’s Office overall actual budget spending has decreased from $6.06 million in 2010 to $5.83 million (-4%) in 2012. Please review my achievements page to learn about some of the innovations each department has implemented to increase our productivity while reducing our cost of operations.
We have achieved a higher profile road presence, which has lead to an increase in arrests while driving down the cost of patrol with innovative deployment. Our Detectives are more productive, solving a much greater percentage of crimes than we were able to previously.
Ogle County's Buildings and Grounds have never looked better, having been beautified with the help of innovative partnerships that we have formed, resulting in reduced costs to the taxpayers, but greatly enhancing the quality of life for our citizens, and visitors to our county properties.
Our Jail is operating more efficiently than ever, and being recognized by other counties who have requested our personnel to assist them in driving down costs as we have. The Ogle County Jail has actually increased Federal income to the County by over 26% over the past three years thanks to our agreement with the U.S. Marshall Service.
A good example of our Jail efficiency is that despite the increase in food prices we have all seen, we have driven the average cost per meal served down from $1.43/meal in 2010 to $1.36/meal in 2012. We have continued to far exceed requirements for calories per meal, yet through innovative purchasing and menu adjustments we do so for less money.
We have established and enhanced partnerships with all other police agencies in the county. I am proud of the results that this increased cooperative spirit has brought about. Together we have updated training for officers, we maintain a professional SWAT Team, and collaborate in undercover operations to take drug dealers off the street.
In short, we are truly doing more with less. Although none of our achievements have been easy, I am proud of the way our staff has stepped up, and executed our plan so thoroughly.
I look forward to continuing our progress with your support, and your vote on March 18, 2014.
